It started when my middle child was two, she&#8217;s 22 now. I started out with a Sunbeam Bread maker and we suffered through my early efforts long enough for me to become fairly proficient. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I started branching out from standard loaves to focaccia and pizza dough. My family now claim they prefer our home bread to &#8220;shop bread&#8221;, and some of their friends have even jumped on board. One boyfriend used to be very happy when he stayed over and was sent off the next day with a packed lunch containing a sandwich. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I always thought that one day I&#8217;d like to try making sourdough from a starter, and then came Covid19 and all the world were confined to home and looking for activities to fill their days. One of my friends obtained a starter from someone, and offered some to me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apparently all starters need a name, I chose Claudette. So Claudette resides in my kitchen now and with her help I&#8217;ve been baking sourdough. Slow bread, tasty, crusty, good.
