Stay home, bake bread

I have now been “working from home” due to COVID-19 for four months and things are starting to feel a little repetitive. Cabin fever is starting to set in, and even though I hardly leave the house it still doesn’t feel like I have enough time to do the things I want to do. For example there is still four litres of white paint unopened in the spare room. There are still five shelves of photo albums unscanned. There is still a bolt of beautiful material just sitting on top of the sewing machine, in the hall cupboard, behind a closed door…

Enough whining. There are also thousands of people who are having a much worse time of it than I am.

One thing I have been doing quite a bit of is bread baking. Last weekend was probably my favourite yet. Sourdough with olives, thyme and parmesan. Delicious and life afirming. All of my sourdough knowledge comes from reading this book “Artisan Sourdough made easy” by Emilie Raffa

If you have any interest in baking sourdough I highly recommend getting yourself a copy.
