A couple of years ago I gave my husband the cookbook OTTOLENGHI by Sami Tamimi and Yotam Ottolenghi, and I can say without a doubt it was one of the best things I ever did. The meals we have had out of that book have been pretty epic. My husband enjoys cooking, and enjoys the spicy flavours found in many of the recipes in the book, so he has taken on a lot of the cooking on weekends leaning heavily on this book.
When my daughter was out shopping before Christmas she came across another book by Ottolenghi and his team, called Ottolenghi Test Kitchen. So this year we will work our way through this book to see if we can source any new family favourites.

First up, Celebration Rice with Lamb, Chicken & Garlic Yoghurt. Verdict = I would eat this again, and again, and again. So good!
Full disclosure, we didnt have chicken, or pomegranate, or a few other ingredients, so we messed with it to make it work without a trip to the supermarket. We had lamb that had been cooked on the bbq the night before, and loads of red capsicum. So we grilled and slicedthe capsicum, cooked the rice as per the recipe, substituted cranberries for the pomegranate, and otherwise vaguely followed the recipe.
The flavour was sensational.
